Change is afoot, and I need your help. Here’s the backstory…

The Backstory

At the bottom of the KSD website is the tagline: “We enjoy creating awesome stuff using software & electronics, and helping others to do the same.” I wrote that years ago, and it’s been more aspirational than reality.

Sure, I’ve created some programming related books (e.g., here and here), and videos (link). But for the most part, I’ve been too busy creating my own stuff to live up to that tag-line.

One suggestion is to create a membership program around “creating stuff, and helping others do the same.” I’ve resisted doing that so far, because committing to delivering content monthly felt like too much work on top of what I already do. Plus, the income is increasingly uncertain, and spreading myself too thin sounded like a bad idea.

As if that isn’t hard enough, my wife has a chronic illness called Myasthenia Gravis (MG). Last year, MG put my wife in the ICU, fighting for her life, needing a ventilator to breathe. If you were wondering why you saw less of me over the last year, that’s why…

The Change

My wife is much better than she was when she left the hospital (thank God). And, I think that I can do it. I think that I can deliver on the tagline: “We enjoy creating awesome stuff using software & electronics, and helping others to do the same.”

But, I need your help. To do this right, I need to know where you’re at, and what you want. That way I can create a program that best serves you.

I don’t want to commit to something, only to discover that it’s not what you need.
