I’m building a SaaS app in C++, and like every other SaaS app, I need to process payments. Stripe is the obvious choice. However, they don’t have an integration SDK for C++. Heck, there isn’t even a community maintained one for C++.
So, I decided to build one. It’s called StripeKit C++. It’s fully open-source, and you can get it now.
StripeKit C++
StripeKit is deliberately similar to Stripe’s own SDKs in design. It handles the Stripe plumbing: constructing API requests, parsing responses, and processing webhooks. Your app decides what to do from there.
It’s also web framework agnostic, so you can use it with any C++ web framework. Although, right now StripeKit only has a backend for the one I use: Drogon. But if you want to use a different web framework, then you can. You just need to write a backend adapter for the networking side of things, and you’re good to go.
Some caveats though…
It currently only supports Stripe hosted checkout and related API/webhook functionality. Basically, it does what I need to launch my SaaS app’s MVP. There’s a lot more in Stripe that it doesn’t support yet.
Also, it’s been written with heavy AI assistance, and it isn’t running in production anywhere yet (because I only just finished it).
I have reviewed the code, and it does have a sizable test-suite, which includes full end-to-end tests using Stripe’s sandbox servers. So, it has been tested with Stripe’s servers and is confirmed as working.
However, as per the BSD license I make no guarantees.
To get started, get the code from the repository. Have a quick look at the docs, try out the examples, and I’m sure you can take it from there.
I wish you all the best with whatever you’re working on.
